A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT MEANS LONGEVITY INTRODUCTION

All of us want an environment where we can live healthily and happily. We can work hand in hand to protect and care for our environment. We should be responsible and aware of the things we should do to maintain a healthy environment and also the things that may jeopardize it. There should be a meeting among us in the community and discuss the things we should do and not do. In this way, we can improve ourselves, correct our mistakes and do more for our betterment. Unity and cooperation are important to attain the goal of having a lifestyle leading to a healthy environment. Let us start being eco-friendly which means living in a way that is not harmful to the environment.

There are various ways that an individual can make sustainable changes to lessen the negative effect that our daily lives usually contribute to our environment. We can adopt lifestyles to help save the planet like zero- waste lifestyle. Doing this means that you aim to reduce waste as much as possible which reduces pollution as well as ensures less garbage ends up in the ocean. Second, a Vegan lifestyle includes eating a plant-based diet and therefore refraining from meat, fish, dairy, egg, and honey. Vegans also refrain from eating anything that contains animal ingredients. We are not forced to have a 100 percent vegan lifestyle but at least reduce meat consumption. Third, a self-sufficient lifestyle means that you’re relying on yourself to provide your own needs like creating your own energy, food, and clothing. Grow your own food in the garden and preserve that food through canning, dehydration, and freezing. Repair items when they break and invest in solar, wind, or hydro equipment to make your own energy. Fourth, conscious consumerism is about being aware of the products that you are buying in terms of how they are made, the people who made them, and how they reach you in terms of their shipment. Fifth, a minimalist lifestyle which is about living with less. This makes great in the environment because the less you own, the less you throw away and therefore the less waste you create. Sixth, a sustainable lifestyle filled with endless possibilities when it comes to the good that we can do for the planet. This is about recognizing that what we do today impacts our future.

The future is ours to make. We should take responsibility to save not only the community we live in but the whole planet. We residents should share a common goal which is to protect and care for the environment for our own good. We should be accountable for our lifestyle and see to it that we promote green living to conserve energy and also prevent air, water, and noise pollution. If we can do so, we can rest assured that we can live a healthier and longer life.
