Most of us were excited about welcoming a new year. We have all wished that the coming year will be happy, prosperous, healthy, and peaceful. We celebrated with abundant delicious foods on our table. Many of us bought thirteen kinds of fruits because we believe that they will bring us good luck. We also follow good luck trends like preparing a bowl of rice with twelve eggs, coins, and money bills rolled and tied with a red ribbon arranged over it. But aside from all these things we do during New Year’s Eve, we also have goals and resolutions in mind. We have plans that we want to fulfill. These are important because they will serve as our motivation and inspiration to move on for a better us.
Like anyone else, I have also goals this 2022. I will study harder and improve my grades. I want that my parents will be proud of me. I promised myself that I will lessen my indulgence in social media. I will uninstall the addictive online games on my phone. I can’t deny that using my gadgets is the reason why I procrastinate in doing my modules and the things that I have to do in our home. One of my goals also is to reduce my weight. I feel delighted every time I eat chocolates, pizza, and many foods that I crave but this year, I will discipline myself and plan a balanced diet for myself. This 2022, I will be more responsible not only in my studies and diet but also for my health and others. I will be more cautious. I will follow all the health protocols during this pandemic. I wish and pray that this pandemic will end soon and the world will turn back to normal. I’m looking forward to the time that we can go to school and have a face-to-face interaction with our teachers and classmates. I miss those days that I could bond with my friends and peers. Waking up early to go to school was a struggle for me but now I miss those times. I miss the moments that we can talk, smile, and laugh in front of other people without wearing a face mask, the times we can eat and drink together without the fear of being infected with Covid-19. However, it’s not yet the end of the world, I know that eventually, our situation will get better especially if we are cooperative and responsible. The betterment of our life is in our hands. It depends on us if we are capable and willing to change for the better. Our goals and resolutions will drive us to become successful.
To fulfill my goals and resolutions this 2022, I will be more responsible and disciplined. I know that even I write a hundred resolutions if I’m not responsible for my actions, my life will not be productive. I am determined to cut off my bad habits and replace them with good ones. I will erase all my nonsense actions and make my life better. New year, better me!
